Subject: GREAT Civil War Performers: The Hardtacks!

Howdy folks,

We need to give a shout out to the Hardtacks, a Civil War performance group that came to Sage Park Middle School in Windsor for two days last week.

They were here for two days from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. and performed for 5 class periods in our library and in classrooms.

They bring in instruments from the time period that they let the kids play, show primary artifacts in a presentation and discuss them with the class, and they play live music sing-along style with the students.

Woody and Marek (the heart and soul of the Hardtacks) perform mostly in New Hampshire and are looking to expand here in Connecticut.

They are very affordable and connect in a very meaningful way to 8th grade Civil War curriculum.
