*"Best author speaker in 30 years" week of 10/1/19!*

Marc Tyler Nobleman, Connecticut native and Maryland author of books for
young readers (see titles below), has been invited to speak at schools from
Tanzania to Thailand and is booking *school visits in CT for October 1-4,
2019*. If he schedules at least three days, he will waive most travel costs
(plus multiple schools can split him for a day), so this is the most
affordable time to find out what the buzz is about:

"In 30 years of hosting best-selling authors, Marc's presentation was the
best I have ever witnessed. Judging from the student response, he
transformed what it means to be a writer."
*—Karen Palko, middle school teacher, International School of Kuala Lumpur,
Malaysia*

"I've never seen an author have such an impact as did Marc. And it's all
the more surprising because he concentrated on research and the practice of
writing. In a grocery store, a colleague overheard a 4th grader heatedly
discussing the presentation with his father."
*—Lisa Casey, library media specialist, Jamestown School District, RI*

*His book Bill the Boy Wonder: The Secret Co-Creator of Batman changed
history

and inspired
the feature documentary Batman & Bill (watch trailer
<https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YcBDjjY2swE>), the first film based on a
nonfiction picture book. It's making people cry worldwide

Among
Marc's other work:*

   - *Boys of Steel: The Creators of Superman*: multiple starred reviews;
ALA Notable; made front page of *USA Today*
   - *Thirty Minutes Over Oregon: A Japanese Pilot's World War II Story*:
true story of the Japanese WWII pilot who bombed the U.S. mainland...and
returned 20 years later to apologize; *New York Times*
   <https://www.nytimes.com/2018/11/09/books/review/alexandria-giardino-ode-to-an-onion-pablo-neruda.html>:
   "Moving"; *Wall Street Journal*
   <https://www.wsj.com/articles/childrens-books-tales-of-bravery-and-brilliance-1541722250>:
"Engrossing and unexpectedly touching"; *Kirkus*: "Powerful and
poignant...a must-read"; Orbis Pictus Honor Book
   - *The Chupacabra Ate the Candelabra*: picture book comedy about the
Latino legend; *Chicago Tribune*: "Fresh, funny, genuinely
   suspenseful...no weak links here"
   - F*airy **Spell: How Two Girls Convinced the World That Fairies Are
Real*: true story of two girls whose WWI-era photos of alleged fairies
mystified the world till they were old women; reviews, perhaps like fairies
   themselves, are glowing
   <https://www.amazon.com/Fairy-Spell-Girls-Convinced-Fairies/dp/0544699483>
   - *Brave Like My Brother*: novel about an American soldier in WWII
England who shares his war experiences (including a historic, dangerous
secret mission) with his 10-year-old brother via letters

"Marc was awesome. I have received a great deal of positive feedback from
teachers and students. I am so glad we had him because both assemblies, K-2
and 3-5, were wonderful. He tailors his presentations to meet each age
group. Much of what he talks about fits in beautifully with our curriculum,
too. He was very easy to work with, and it was a low maintenance
presentation. I strongly recommend Marc."
*—**JoAnn Floyd, Bells Mill Elementary School, Potomac, MD*
