[CASL-L] Suggestions for HS Texts on Immigrants and Freedom?

I know I'm late to this party. I'd love to see the completed lists. I also have a book to add that I just finished this weekend. Six Truths and a Lie by Ream Shukairy.
One of the characters is DACA, but that doesn't come out at the beginning.

I know you said fiction and immigrants, but an interesting nonfiction text about six young refugees and their fight for educational equality in America is The SchooI Deserve by Jo Napolitano.

If you're not limited to fiction, there are so many good YA memoirs.

Suggestions Please!! 😊

I was asked to create a list of 6 high-school level fiction texts surrounding the large concept of freedom.

My ELA teachers are trying to incorporate some new titles regarding immigrants or others who have left their own countries. Students will be using those stories to compare to those who automatically have Freedom.

If you know any titles that jump out that would work for that, let me know! I have a lot of ideas, but they are middle school texts...
