Hello!

We are forming a new district, Region 20, July 1st. This new district is
the combination of Litchfield Public Schools and Region 6 Schools (Warren,
Morris, Goshen).

As part of this work, we are researching best practices for grading in
middle school. We are looking at standards versus weighted grading
specifically for academics only. Although, I am also interested in how your
district might assess classroom behaviors too.

For those librarians in a middle school setting, can you please respond to
the following questions to me directly at crosa at rsd6.org? If you do not
grade, can you please ask a co-worker? Please respond by 4/19/24.
Thank you for any help you can provide!

1. How do you assess academic grades?
2. If weighted, how are the percentages broken down?
3. Do you allow retakes?
4. Is a 0 assigned for missed/incomplete work?
5. What are the special education assessments and standards?
6. How are classroom behaviors assessed (tardy, prepared, disruptive, etc.)?

To help keep our CASL Listserv clean, please respond to me directly within
the next two weeks.

Thank you for your time!
