I love all these suggestions. Going back a "few" years, there are some
timeless but really fun series like: Artemis Fowl (love this!), A Wrinkle
in Time, The Name of this Book is Secret, Brandon Mull's Fablehaven. More
recently Derek Barnes' art mystery series like The VanGogh Deception have
really kept my attention while being totally appropriate for 6th grade. I
also LOVE James Ponti's City Spies series.
