Subject: [Conntech] Governor's Proposed Budget Adjustments

The Governor’s proposed budget adjustments were released today and are generally good news for libraries.  The Governor’s budget for the State Library leaves intact funding for CCAR, CLC, State Aid and CCARD.  The recent rescission for CLC would not carry into the new fiscal year. Under the Governor’s proposal funding for iCONN and reQuest would be combined into one line item and would be reduced by 5% basically carrying forward the recent rescission. It is not clear at this point just how this will affect the iCONN offerings beginning in July.  The Governor’s proposal substantially restores the severe holdbacks and subsequent rescission to the Library’s book budget that were imposed this fiscal year.  Today marks the beginning of the legislative session and a final budget is still a ways off.
