My district is planning in the draft of the new three year technology plan to redefine the position of Library Media Specialist to that of Information Technology Specialist ?  Does the state have certification for such a job?  Do we get retirement credit if we work in an area for which we don’t have certification?  My district says it will provide training but the track record for getting good training in our field has not been good.  It looks like we will be turned into computer teachers.
