Introducing an online,
graduate credit, asynchronous course offered for the 2012 Summer session. There is no designated time that you have to be online.
EDC 922: E-Books and Digital Content (3 cr)
Kindles, Nooks, iPads, eReaders, and tablets are the new electronic tools exploding in usage both inside and outside the
classroom. Some forward thinking schools are already using these devices to support teaching & learning. This course will provide pragmatic insight in the use of these
tools; as well as explore Open Source eTextbooks; and, the concepts & technologies behind Web 2.0.
Participants will use
collaborative software to create eTextbooks & collaborate with other educators on the best practices for incorporating these technologies
with their students. Learn how to gain access to unlimited amounts of free eTextbooks, curriculum material, and Digital Content.

Each week's lessons are posted and you have seven days to complete your
assignments.
You will interact completely through a blog, as well as learn what a blog is, how to use one, and how to access educational blogs from teachers around the world. All lessons will be reusable in your own
classrooms.
