Hi Kathleen,
I don't know the answer to your kindle question, but look forward to hearing the answer.

FYI there is an iPads in the classroom workshop at the Danbury Apple Store on Wednesday. If there is still room for attendees, you would need to sign up.

A couple of apps that I'll surely be using next year are educreations and nearpod teacher (nearpod student for the students' iPads). It's mind boggling how many amazing apps are available for free! Here's the link to a live binder for iPads in schools: http://www.livebinders.com/play/play/26195

Here are some notes copied directly from Michelle Luhtala's follow up to her webinar on Wednesday that speak to the topic of managing iPads:

"edWeb.net Emerging Tech session 24 on Digital Libraries(6/13/2012) chat excerpts with responses

Valerie DiLorenzo from Bethlehem: Michelle just mentioned ipads. I'm getting 8 ipads for my library! What are some of the best ways to manage these? I'm sure there are links already up on edweb, but if you can give me a link quickly that would be great!

Valerie, Please check out the last 10 minutes of my last webinar on BYOD. Michael talks about Apple Configurator, which is what we finally settled on to manage the devices. Be warned. Getting 8 iPads is a lot of work! Try to appoint a student to manage them.http://www.instantpresenter.com/edweb/E957D785874E

Lisa Schmucki from edWeb.net: Here is a link to Kathy Schrock's webinar on edWeb in www.edweb.net/pdinaction on iPads:". Thanks for your prompt feedback, Michelle if you read this!

Yikes, be careful what you wish for . . . and get! I'm excited though

Kathleen,
I have not tried downloading multiple copies of Kindle books to the Kindle iPad app    Let us know the limit.  Redding ES gave 12 iPads to teachers and the school librarian to find the best apps.  However, they're still in the "discovery" phase.   I have set up a eBoard.  It includes ways to find apps and how to manage iPads in the classroom.  I have not found a good web site for managing an iPad cart in the LMC.  However, we have been managing the carts of various departments.  http://ipads.barlow.site.eboard.com

Hello!

I am curious if anyone has tried this and knows whether this will work.   I am supposed to be getting an iPad lab next year.  If I have a kindle account, can I put the app on multiple iPads to access the books.   I know there is a limit to actual kindle devices that can be linked to one account but did not know if tht held true when using the iPad app.    Thank you so much.

Any other advice for managing a lab, good apps that are "tried and true" (that would be a fun list to start generating) would be greatly appreciated.
