I just wanted to share this piece in eSchool news about Joyce Valenza and Shannon Miller's session at Alan November's 2012 Building Learning Communities in Boston, MA (July 15-20). The presentation highlights "Five Things Every School Librarian Should Teach This Year" -  the session's title - and its coverage in eSchool News provides us with a great advocacy tool.

It's appearance in an online (and thus accessible) publication for technology news in K-20 learning takes the message beyond our crowd of "converts" to the larger pool of education decision makers.

The message is, "Librarians are more important now than ever!" It's a good one to share with your adiministrators, boards of education, faculty, parents, students, and one to emphasize during the summer months as we work on curriculum develpment and start planning for upcoming budget negotiations.

Happy Reading!
