- Wanted: Information Literacy Skills in a World of Google & Wikipedia will take place at 6 p.m. Central time on Wednesday, Sept. 12. Presented by Emily Gover of EasyBib. She will share recent findings on the status of plagiarism, research methods and citation practices and cross-reference these results with data pulled and analyzed directly from EasyBib. This webinar is open to AASL members and non-members.
- How to be a Ninja Warrior Filter Fighter! is a complimentary webinar presented in honor of Banned Websites Awareness Day. Taking place at 6 p.m. Central time on Wednesday, Oct. 3, presenter Gwyneth Jones will focus on how overly restrictive filtering affects student learning and what school librarians can do to fight restrictive filtering in their schools. Jones, aka The Daring Librarian, is a middle school teacher librarian, a blogger, a Tweeter, a public speaker, a citizen of Social Media and a resident of Second Life. This webinar is open to AASL members and non-members.
- Opening the Space: Libraries as a Site of Participatory Culture, the firstKnowledge Quest webinar for the 2012-2013 editorial year, will take place at 6 p.m. Central on Tuesday, Oct 9. Presenter Andy Plemmons will explore participatory culture and how the library can be a space of participation. Plemmons is a school librarian in Athens, Georgia. He teaches students in PreK-5th grade at David C. Barrow Elementary. The first KQ webinar of the 2012-2013 season is open to AASLmembers and non-members.
