Haven't read the book yet, but I know that our CASL vice president, Mary Ellen Minichiello, is working with the state on specifics for our profession.  I have cc'd her so that she can also respond.  It should work well with AASL national standards since they align with the Common Core.  See the Common Core Crosswalk which explains the alignment in detail.

Any idea if it also ties in with Connecticut's forthcoming teacher evaluation rubrics (for which, if I understand correctly, they're still working on the teacher librarian piece)?  My district is a pilot for the new evaluation procedure.

Great news.  We will have ALA's new book 21st-Century Approach to School Librarian Evaluation available for conference attendees at a discount price of $30.  Read more about it: http://www.alastore.ala.org/detail.aspx?ID=3930

This publication complements the Standards for the 21st-Century Learner, Standards for the 21st-Century Learner in Action, Empowering Learners: Guidelines for School Library Programs, and A Planning Guide for Empowering Learners.
