We first purchased cheap ones that fell apart which was frustrating for both students and us. We now purchase Sony MDR-ZX100 headphones (see below), which are $29 per pair, and last longer.  We have about thirty sets and lost only three last year.  One had the ear cuff pop off and two had a faulty wire connection.  We check out headphones to individual students block after block each day, so they receive heavy use.  You will have to decide how much use the headphones will get.

Subject: [CASL-L] headsets

Hi,

My district needs to purchase headsets that will be used primarily for testing purposes, K-12.   I am looking for recommendations for any that have worked well for you.  Have you found that it is more cost effective to purchase more heavy-duty ones that have an extended life expectancy, or cheap single use ones?  Do you use a different model for elementary than for secondary?

Thank you!
