How do you solve a problem like eBooks? Whether you’re buying eBooks as fast as you can or waiting to see how the eBook dust settles, you won’t want to miss this important eBook symposium put on by the State Library's Advisory Council for Library Planning and Development's (ACLPD) eBook Task Force.

Keynoter Alan Inouye is the director of ALA’s Office for Information Technology Policy and a frequent commentator on ebooks in both library and mainstream publications. He’ll provide an update on eBook issues from a national perspective.

We’ll also have a panel of publishers discussing the current state of eBook affairs and the future for libraries, publishers, and readers. There will be a Q+A after the panel, so bring your questions about publishing and eBooks.

Connecticut's Deputy Commissioner of Consumer Protection Michelle Seagull will discuss her department's report to the legislature on the availability of eBooks to users of public libraries.

Finally, our own Eric Hansen and Mary Anne Mendola Franco will discuss two surveys of Connecticut libraries about eBook purchasing and usage habits.
