While on the topic of the nominees, I have been rather reluctant to speak up, but feel that I must-
The new category of the elementary level to me, and others with whom I have spoken, is a bit much-
This reduces the credibility of the award itself and certainly should not have 15 nominees!
Who decided this, and shouldn’t the body of all Connecticut librarians have had a say?
Also, why are there picture books! If there is to be any kind of merit to this category, I really don’t think that it should be any books other than age appropriate books for independent reading; early reader chapter books and such.
