How to Develop an Emergency Preparedness Plan Friday, 3/14/2014, 9:30 am.
Join us on March 14 when DLD Director Dawn LaValle will discuss the steps involved in writing an emergency preparedness plan for your library.
Attendees will learn the basics of developing an emergency plan for their libraries, what information to gather for the plan, how to assess the emergency evacuation needs of your library, how to develop actual procedures, and the essential information to include in plan- chain of command, assembly points, walkthroughs, training and drills. We will also teach you how to foster relationships with emergency responders and other key town departments.

In this workshop led by Rita Gavelis, we will explore software options beyond PowerPoint, including free software, slideshow apps for tablets and smartphones, as well as web-based services.

In this workshop presented by Rita Gavelis, we will explore the features of social media services Pinterest, Tumblr, Mashable, and StumbleUpon. We will also discuss its differences from other similar social media sites and how they can be used to promote your library’s services.
