Registration is now open for Design for Understanding Meets the 21st Century School Librarian and BYOL: Bring Your Own Lessons into the 21st Century! These self-paced courses led in Moodle are designed with the busy school librarian in mind - participants can complete coursework at a time that is most convenient for them.
Design for Understanding Meets the 21st Century School Librarian
Facilitator: Mary Keeling
In this four-week course, participants will be introduced to the Understanding by Design curriculum framework, known as the backward design model. Participants will work with the three stages in the backward design model to build a basic understanding of the process and apply the concepts to planning units of library instruction.

BYOL: Bring Your Own Lessons into the 21st Century!
Facilitators: Liz Deskins & Christina Door
During this six-week course, participants will gain experience integrating web 2.0 tools into lesson design through introduction to websites recognized as AASL Best Websites for Teaching & Learning. They will then have the option to submit finished plans for publication in the Standards for the 21st-Century Learner Lesson Plan Database.
