Dear Library Media Specialists:

The resources that can be searched by Lexile level and the approximate percentage of full-text articles in each resource that have Lexile scores can be found on the iCONN site map here:  http://www.cslib.org/iconnsitemap/staff/EBSCOResourcesSearchByLexile.htm.  Notes at the bottom provide the command line syntax that allows you to go beyond the preset ranges provided in Advanced Search for more precise searching. We will refine this page as we learn more about EBSCO’s current capabilities. This reflects current status – what we know about what is possible today.

We are working closely with the iCONN Database Committee and EBSCO to ensure that EBSCO’s new K-12 platform provides the optimum level of support for Common Core State Standards.  Areas that are being addressed include both functionality (“what” can be done) as well as usability (“how” it is done) so that the end result has the greatest utility for both teachers and students. Searching by Lexile level is only one dimension of this challenge. We greatly appreciate the guidance we have received on this topic from library media specialists on the Database Committee.

We hope you find this information useful and, as always, welcome your comments.

Best regards,

Bill
