Up for debate

Just in time for ALA─and following the Children’s Literature Conference (June 18–24) in Columbia, South Carolina—where this year’s topic was “Diverging Diversities: Plurality in Children’s & Young Adult Literature Then and Now”—SLJ has launched our premiere “Up for Debate” forum. Over time, we’ll use this format to help explore hot topics in the world of libraries, education, and publishing. First up is “What Can Be Done to Increase Diversity in Literature for Children and Teens?” Six outspoken figures weigh in on the topic, and I encourage you to add your voice to the conversation through reader’s comments.
What’s not up for debate is our upcoming move. We’re packing up our offices to move to a new space in lower Manhattan in mid-July. Our phone numbers and emails will remain the same. For mail, please send items to our current address until July 18. After that, use the new address: 123 William St., Suite 802, New York, NY 10038, where we will be up and running on July 21.
