Sept 24 – 10am – Wednesday Webinar: Tablets for Library Research
Tablets have become so popular, they have had a huge impact on the U.S. GNP, generating billions of
dollars in revenue. They are not just convenient for reading email, surfing the Internet, and downloading
eBooks, they are powerful tools for performing research and office tasks as well.
In this webinar, I will demonstrate how tablets can function like a desktop or laptop in the library, from
searching publications databases, to creating and editing documents.
Though an iPad will be used for demonstration purposes, the content of the webinar can apply to many
Android tablets as well.
Oct 8 – 3:30pm – Wednesday Webinar: Must Have Apps for Mobile Devices: Educational Software
In 2013, over 195 million sold throughout the world. Many colleges and schools have issued
iPads to students for studying and doing homework.
In this webinar, we will review some of the popular educational applications for students,
teachers, and educators. We’ll cover apps on a multitude of topics from Curriculum standards
to Whiteboards, as well as discuss tips for selecting the best apps for your needs.
Oct 22 – 10am – Wednesday Webinar: Must Have Apps for Mobile Devices: Library Software
Have you noticed more librarians using tablets to take notes at committee meetings and
conferences? This should be no surprise. According to the technology website, CNET.COM,
tablets are expected to surpass laptop sales by 2015.
In this webinar, we will view some of the many applications useful for working in a library: from
learning the ABCs to word processing.
Nov 5 – 10am – Wednesday Webinar: Must Have Apps: Productivity Software for mobile devices
The days of “Bigger is better” are over. Now the power and functionality of a desktop computer
are in tiny devices such as tablets, music players, and cell phones. In this webinar, we will view
some of the popular productivity and office applications for creating, editing, and sharing
documents, photos, and information.
Nov 19 – 10am – Wednesday Webinar: Must Have Apps for Mobile Devices: Social Software
According to EMARKETER.COM, in 2013, 1 in 4 people worldwide used social networks. That
is approximately 1.73 billion people. In this webinar, we will view some of the popular applications to help manage your social
networks and stay connected to others.
