If you are considering Chrome Books, I would recommend you look into becoming a "Google School."  I do not know the details about how this is set up, but it is my understanding that it is entirely free.

I recently purchased a touchscreen Chromebook for $250. It is amazingly fast and easy to use.  Currently, it takes our students approximately 10 minutes to log on to our laptops, so we lose a lot of instructional time.  My Chromebook starts in literally 2 seconds.  It is incredibly fast and easy to use.

Good luck,
Sara

Our school is considering  Chrome Books.  We're under the impression that students will need a Google account in order to log on - does this mean the students will have gmail accounts?  If so, how to you handle this?  We're a PreK-8 school.

Any input you can share would be appreciated.
