Rebecca,

You will find a number of school library/librarian impact studies here (see 3rd bullet under K12):

I hope this helps.

Subject: [CASL-L] looking for research in support of the certified LMS

Good morning,

The district I work in has three schools (elementary, middle and high school). I am the LMS at the high school. When I started in the district there was a certified position in each building. Three years ago one position was cut. The full time positions remained at the high school and elementary school for two years. This year the positions are at the high school and middle school and the elementary school is staffed with one IA. I would like to collect data and research that supports a certified position in each building to present during this year’s budget season. I am looking for current research studies that make the correlation between the LMS and student achievement or any recommendations for the type of data that might be collected at the primary level to help make this argument. Also any advice from someone working in a district that has reinstated a certified position would be appreciated. Thank you in advance for your feedback.
