Upcoming for Educators
FALL 2014
Dear Educators,
Fall is right around the corner, and The Carle has an amazing line-up of exhibitions and programs planned! In addition to our current exhibitions, including Harriet the Spy Turns Fifty and Simms Taback: Art by Design, we are thrilled to present our upcoming exhibition Madeline at 75: The Art of Ludwig Bemelmans, on view beginning November 15, 2014. Organized by The Carle and currently on view at the New York Historical Society, this is the first exhibition devoted to Bemelmans in more than fifty years, and is not to be missed!
Below you will find some of the many workshops and programs we are offering in the coming months, and we hope you are able to join us for some of them. And don't forget - our Carle educators provide student outreach programs and off-site professional development workshops as well!
Best wishes for a great school year,
Courtney Waring

Innovations in Education: A Study Tour of the Early Childhood Centers of Pistoia, Italy
March 16-20, 2015
(30 PDPs) The Innovations in Education study tour, launched in 2010, has quickly become known for the variety of learning opportunities it offers its participants, as well as its intimate view of Pistoia. Participants tour school environments; learn about the schools' history; talk with school staff and teachers about both practical and philosophic aspects of teaching and learning; and share with other participants their observations, beliefs and practice. Participants also have the opportunity to experience the history and culture of Pistoia, where the value of aesthetics and deeply held beliefs about the potential and rights of all children and families are so foundational.
