Poetry Out Loud

Did you know that thousands of students across Connecticut are competing to be Connecticut’s Poetry Out Loud State Champion? Schools across the state are currently registering to participate in Poetry Out Loud, a national poetry recitation competition for high schools. Students who participate in Poetry Out Loud master public speaking skills, build self-confidence, and learn about their literary heritage. This program can be carried out by Language Arts teachers, theater teachers, afterschool groups and even Library Media Specialists! Find out more and register at www.cthumanities.org/POL. Registration closes October 17th. A professional development opportunity is available to registered schools. Space is limited, so register soon!
