Dear Colleagues,

MSLA Past-President Valerie Diggs, a nationally recognized leader in the school library profession, was informed on Monday that she was being let go from her position as Department Head of Libraries and High School Librarian in the Chelmsford Public Schools due to a severe budge shortfall. Two other department heads were also let go. The manner in which this action was taken is a clear violation of contractual language and the MTA is already working to support these individuals. NEASC has also been informed.
