The mission of the library media center is to develop students who have the knowledge, skills, and confidence to navigate the sea of information.

Thus, we will provide conditions that foster:

• an efficient library media center, flexible and responsive to students'  needs
• an atmosphere of inquiry, encouraging information access
• a program consisting of the skills needed to efficiently and effectively access, extract, synthesize and present information.
• a high expectation of student success in using information
• a diversity of information technologies to allow for differing learning styles and abilities

I am currently in the ARCLMS certification program in Hamden and am relatively new to this community. I have found it to be very helpful and informative! At present, I am a classroom teacher of 4/5/6 Social Studies and am in the process of creating a school library from scratch:)
