Teaching with Primary Sources equips educators with methods and tools from the Library of Congress’s digitized collection of primary sources to address this critical need.  TPS is a natural fit!

Coaches Academy for Librarians

Develop valuable skills and information to share with your school community—become your school’s TPS Coach!

Coaches Academy for Librarians is an advanced course for school librarians and media specialists who have completed an introductory TPS course. CAL is designed by and facilitated by librarian and TPS educational consultant, Jennifer Hanson, to help you develop the skills and knowledge you need to lead teachers in your school to use Library of Congress digitized sources effectively across the curriculum.

Coaches Academy for Teachers

Are you the teacher others bring their questions to? Do you share resources and ideas with others in your school? Are you ready to help others use primary sources in their classrooms? Coaches Academy for Teachers is for you!

This advanced course is an exciting opportunity to collaborate with fellow teachers from across the eastern US who are excited about using the resources from loc.gov to enrich student learning. Through facilitated live discussions and independent reading from a variety of professional organizations, you will gain a basic understanding of adult learning theory, peer coaching strategies, and facilitation techniques. Come away with specific strategies and a plan to coach colleagues at your school to effectively teach with primary sources.
