Hi Sue - How can I refuse an offer like this?  Her program looks wonderful !!??!!??
And FREE - just right for my budget!

Can we *talk*?  Email is probably best - I'll be in + out for the next week or so but I can access my email.
Thanks in advance,

Dear Sue,
I would be interested in having her visit East Granby.  Would Saturday be the only day she would be available?

Good afternoon. We are having author Christine Taylor-Butler at our library on Saturday June 13th at 10AM. Christine is willing to visit other libraries, free of charge, while she is here in CT. I do have one other library committed to having her. If you are interested in hosting her, please contact me at your earliest convenience. See below for some info on her and what she can offer.

Take care and have a great long weekend.

Children’s author C. Taylor-Butler has not only published over 80 nonfiction books with publishers like Scholastic and Lee & Low (Sacred Mountain: Everest May, 2009), she is also an engineer! Because of her expertise and love of science, she gives young readers a new perspective on nonfiction, using hands-on experiments, codes and puzzles and other fun stuff to show them how nonfiction is relevant to them and informs their lives.
In her first middle-grade, science-fiction/adventure novel, The Lost Tribes, five kids could never have imagined their parents are scientists on a secret mission, and when their parents go missing, they are forced to face an unimaginable truth – with codes to solve and the race for tribal artifacts, it’s a fast-paced adventure and everything in The Lost Tribes can be tracked back to something real!
The author will talk to young readers and writers about fiction vs. nonfiction, how you can use nonfiction to inform fiction, and how you build a fictional world that is believable. Kids will participate in hands-on experiments and fun activities that relate to world of science and The Lost Tribes.  And, she’ll show readers how her books came about, cool illustrations how the illustrator helped her book come alive!
A review from Kirkus Reviews says "Well-written and well-paced: a promising start to what should be an exciting and unusual sci-fi series…”

Hello Moonies,

We just hosted a wonderful Paddington storytime program to help raise community awareness around homelessness. If you're interested in similar outreach I've attached a PDF with a bit more info about a possible program, or you could contact Madeline Ravich Connecticut Coalition to End Homelessness (CCEH) mravich@cceh.org C: (773) 339-3600. www.cceh.org

Best wishes,

John
