Good morning everyone,

I have had excellent experience with Thrift Books, which is located in CT. They will sell the book and give you part of the proceeds, keep some for their expenses, and share with a charity of your choice (from a list they provide). What can’t be sold is responsibly recycled.

Here is the contact info I have:

"The old idea of the librarian as a sort of recluse closeted with his books and

interested only in them is the very antithesis of the modern librarian, who

must live with people equally with books, and who must also be keenly aware

of all that is going on in the world around him."

~Linda A. Eastman~ (Head Librarian of the Cleveland Public Library, 1918 to 1938)

Last year someone shared with me an organization that will pick-up discarded books and pay an amount based upon weight??  Anyone recall this organization  or know of any others?
