Subject:Looking for some great school librarians who want to impact library policy & program across the state
The Connecticut State Library’s Advisory Council for Library Planning & Development (ACLPD) is seeking volunteers to represent regions and library types on the ACLPD council.
This volunteer position is for a 2 year term on the council.The mission of the Advisory Council for Library Planning and Development (ACLPD) is to provide the State Library Board and staff with advice, perspective, and communication from the library community on matters relating to the State Library's various statewide program and service responsibilities, including the administration of the federal Library Services and Technology Act. In meeting its mission, the ACLPD will provide advice, assistance, and guidance in the following specific areas:
- planning for, and coordination of statewide library and information services;
- policies for the operation of statewide library and information services;
- development of programs and services;
- trend analysis;
- idea generation; and
- problem solving.
This volunteer position is for a 2 year term (with possible second 2 year term). The Council's regular meetings are held in February, April, June, August, October and December at the Middletown Library Service Center in Middletown Connecticut on the third Thursday of the meeting month from 9:30 – 11:30 am.
ACLPD is currently looking for librarians/nominees that represent:
- Special Libraries
- School Library Media Centers
- Institutional libraries
