Remember!  All of your students can access a myriad of databases if they all have a public library card. Schools can also get institutional cards from their local public libraries. Add a shortcut on your school library webpage to link students to a secure/password protected log-in to those databases.  Also, make sure you know what topics and research projects your teachers have planned for the coming school year! That ought to drive your purchase & selection process.
Just a thought.

I am at a middle school looking at ABC-Clio's Issues database. Are the databases you are mentioning ok for 8th grade also? Does anyone have experience with Cavendish? I thought for $159 each I could pick and choose a couple. We are also very price sensitive.

Hi all,

If you could purchase just one database, which one would it be?  I am the librarian at Plainfield High School and I am researching databases to purchase for next year.  I have looked at a few of your websites to see what databases you are linked to.  I am looking at Infobase Learning, ABC-CLIO, and Gale Cengage.  We currently have ICONN, Grolier, and Gale Virtual Reference Library.

Thanks,

JoAnn Titus
