Are you uncomfortable dealing with computer problems? This class is for you if you’re not an IT person but you find yourself fixing
minor computer issues throughout the day. Instructor Adam Delaura will cover some basic troubleshooting techniques that you can use to tackle common computer problems that occur in the library. We will also talk about what type of information you should pass
on to your IT people.

1:00 PM-Protecting your Patrons' Privacy (Wallingford)
Join Alison Macrina of the Library Freedom Project and staff of the ACLU for a special training on digital privacy rights. This training
will begin with a background on major surveillance programs and authorizations, connecting the NSA’s dragnet with FBI and local police surveillance and the chilling effect of surveillance on speech and writing.

Continuous improvement means introducing new services for library users and project management for library managers. This workshop,
led by Cheryl Bryan, will discuss the issues of clarifying priorities, defining a specific project, planning who will participate, establishing the timeline, creating accountability and finally evaluating each project.

PM-Capital and Facility Development Planning (Middletown)
Expanding needs of the community for library services often lead to a need to expand, renovate or build a new library building. This
workshop, led by Cheryl Bryan, will cover the organizational steps to beginning a capital project. We’ll discuss developing and presenting planning documents, developing communications plan to keep our stakeholders informed about the process, and working with
building professionals.
