Night-Owl PD and Networking Opportunities

The AASL 17th National Conference & Exhibition offers nonstop professional development and networking opportunities each night of conference. For those arriving early on Wednesday, Dinner with a Local Librarian provides attendees the opportunity to experience the local flavor of Columbus with other school librarians. Thursday night features an interactive workshop sponsored by the Harry Potter Alliance that will explore how to transfigure the pop culture passions of young people into real-world civic engagement. Or attendees can pop over to the Storytelling Festival as spell-binding performers celebrate the everyday and fantastic in a casual evening of traditional and original tales. Later that evening be sure to stop by the Hack the Association event where attendees can crowd-source questions related to creating an inclusive environment within AASL. Friday night kicks off with the Author Banquet featuring Matt de la Pena, Sonia Manzano, and Rita Williams-Garcia. Later Friday night join your colleagues and share your thoughts on a set of topics for the informal peer-to-peer learning that is (un)Conference. Finally on Saturday, conference officially closes with the Closing Celebration at The North Market.

To find out more information about each of these opportunities, visit the conference website.

During AASL National Conference, the museum will showcase a travelling display of original artwork and a museum representative will be on hand to discuss the artwork with attendees.
