Marc Tyler Nobleman visited here in Hamden this past week, too.

He was terrific and everyone was very impressed with his presentation. Teachers stuck their head in the library afterwards to tell me how great they thought he was. Marc was engaging and highly professional. He did a simpler 30-minute version for K-2 and an expanded hour one for 3-6.

Because both books from his presentation have to do with the real creators of the two superheroes, his challenge was to make copyright and intellectual property interesting -- and he succeeded royally. Besides the fact that his superhero character origin stories are interesting in their own right, our students better understand why those concepts are so important. And I have two great stories to use for teaching in the future!

Marc Tyler Nobleman visited two schools (grades 3 - 6) in Portland CT this past week. I know that he's been mentioned on this listserv before. He was a hit with students, staff, and administration with his interactive, humorous, and energetic presentation about the creators of Superman and Batman. He seamlessly wove in Common Core vocabulary and by the end of his presentation, many kids were thinking, "I want to research and write nonfiction!" The other half were thinking "Wow...where I have been - superheroes are super cool!" Marc is professional, organized, and easy/fun to work with!
