Dear Colleagues,

I have confirmation from ALA that Exhibits Only passes for ALA Midwinter are only good for entrance to the exhibit hall on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. They DO NOT cover the opening of the exhibits on Friday night. This is a disturbing change of past-practice that has caught many of us off-guard, but I want to be sure no one is mislead into thinking they can attend the opening with an Exhibits Only pass. For this, full conference registration is required.

I have been trying to work out alternatives for our members, but have not had any luck so far. I will continue to pursue other options, and if I come up with anything, I will announce it right away.

If you already purchased an exhibits only pass thinking you could use it for Friday and will not be attending other days, I suggest that you contact ALA and ask for a refund, since there is no information anywhere on their website stating that these passes cannot be used for the opening of the exhibits.
