Marketing & Your 2015 Statistics
This Thursday!  1/21/2016
9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Middletown Library Service Center

What statistics best tell your library’s story? Which books circulated the most at your library in 2015? How many storytimes did your library offer? What percentage of your town’s budget is the library budget? How many residents have library cards?

Let’s wrap up 2015 with a statistical extravaganza. Bring your 2015 library statistics, and we’ll use Excel and several other web based tools to create graphs, data visualizations, and graphics that highlight your library’s 2015 achievements.

Having trouble finding statistics to bring? Ask for your library’s circulation or budget statistics, or, look at a wealth of Connecticut library statistics at: http://libguides.ctstatelibrary.org/dld/stats/overview. We’ll also discuss how to use statistics to tell your library’s story in ways that will resonate with patrons and town government.

Learning Objectives:

1. To identify and sort through library data sets that match up to library mission statements

2. To understand different types of graphs that can be used for data visualization

3. To graph data in Excel

4. To identify formatting choices that can maximize library data's impact
