Books I need to weed but are still in great shape I usually offer them to teachers first. There are usually some first year teachers that need to beef up their classroom library and are thrilled to take them from you. I also like to give them to students as rewards or prizes.

In preparing for next year's budget, we are determining what to do with multiple copies from previous years. In the past I have purchased 1 hardcover and 5 paperbacks of each nominee for grades 4-6.

We need the shelf space and cannot fit all the paperbacks on the shelves. Do we offer them to teachers? Do you order e books?

Any suggestions would be helpful!

We know you've all been anxiously waiting. The TOP SECRET 2017 Nutmeg Nominee Lists are now available for purchasing & planning purposes!

These lists are available to CONNECTICUT SCHOOL MEDIA SPECIALISTS and CONNECTICUT PUBLIC LIBRARIANS ONLY. Please, PLEASE don't share it with the general public (students, parents, teachers, bookstores, salespeople who aren't sponsors, etc.) until MAY 1, 2016.

If you would like to see the list, please send an email to: nutmeg.book.award@gmail.com and you will receive a response with a copy of the 2017 Elementary, Intermediate, Teen and High School Nominees.
