Dear Colleagues,
When I accepted a position last spring at U32 to replace the irreplaceable Dan Greene in their Learning Commons, the singular most delightful discovery has been working alongside Vicky Palmer. As a vital member of this library team, Vicky and Dan worked
in sync for 20 years, consequently developing a library and library program for middle and high school students that is dynamic, active, and integral to the U-32 learning community.
Vicky is retiring at the end of this year, capping off a rich and robust career in both public and school libraries. She is has such a warm presence, a passion for literature, and a deep and wide curiosity that will be missed by both our students and
teachers alike.
What softens this blow as the new teacher-librarian at U32 is that Vicky's position will be replaced, thus ensuring this dynamic library program Vicky and Dan created will continue to grow, innovate, and develop. While many schools in Vermont struggle
to maintain adequate staffing in their libraries, I am thrilled that U32 will continue to adequately staff our library to ensure that our dynamic program will continue to support the teaching and learning of our students and staff.
If you are interested in applying, please visit our posting on
SchoolSpring and note the application deadline of
March 18th.
Best,
Meg Allison
