School Library Month is Almost Here

And We're Ready to Celebrate!

Megan McDonald, author of the beloved Judy Moody and Stink books, is the national spokesperson for the 2016 observance of School Library Month!

School librarians not only foster a lifelong love of reading and story, they encourage thinking and creativity. They support curious minds. They inspire young imaginations. School librarians shape lives.

In a PSA recorded especially for School Library Month, Megan speaks to how school librarians transform learning by inspiring and feeding the curiosity of their students. The PSA is freely available for download and distribution.

Resources for Celebrating

Celebrate all month—or pick a day or a week—whatever your schedule allows. This calendar of activity ideas, author and ambassador quotes, and professional development links will help you along the way.

How about a little bling for your website or social media? Download complimentary web graphics or update your Facebook or Twitter profile with this SLM Twibbon.

We want to hear from you! Share on our SLM Padlet (an AASL Best Website for Teaching & Learning) how your school library program transforms learning every day!

The opportunities are endless! Download complimentary posters, attend one of our SLM webinars, or have your policymakers proclaim April as School Library Month.
