Hilda Weisburg Receives AASL Distinguished Service Award Hilda Weisburg, retired school librarian and editor of “School Librarian's Workshop,” is the recipient of the 2016 AASL Distinguished Service Award. Sponsored by Baker and Taylor, the $3,000 award recognizes an individual member of the library profession who has, over a significant period of time, made an outstanding national contribution to school librarianship and school library development. New Toolkit Offers Resources to Highlight Instructional Role of School Librarians to Pre-Service Principals and Teachers The newly released toolkit, developed in response to a concern previously raised by the Affiliate Assembly, is relevant, timely, and practical.
