Dawn- if you have time to purchase, Greenhaven has a series of books called social issues in literature: Editor: Bryfonski Title: Depression in J.D. Salinger's The Catcher in the Rye.

Teen Health and Wellness is great, Cathy, I agree-
Gale has a series (available in print and ebook) called Novels for Students.  Vol. 1 includes Catcher.
I presently have 4 classes of sophomores reading American novels and writing about a theme or historical connection - ResearchitCT has been a terrific help.

Good luck!  -Barb

Hello everyone,

I’ve been asked to collaborate with a teacher who wants students to research teen depression in relation to the book A Catcher in the Rye. Can anyone suggest resources? They can be apps, online or tangible as long as they are high school level. Students will visit the library next week and I will show them resources on researchitct.org (the artist formerly known as iconn) but wanted to reach out in case anyone has ideas or suggestions.

Thanks,
