Maker Space Teacher:
Discovery Academy seeks a highly creative certified elementary teacher to provide instruction to students in prekindergarten through fifth grade in a newly created special with a focus on the engineering design process. As part of this
special, students will have an opportunity to explore coding through the code.org curriculum, as well as follow newly designed integrated units for the maker space. The successful teacher needs to be highly skilled in the area of technology and be entrepreneurial,
flexible, and a team player to support this exciting new direction. Collaborating with the STEM Coach, the Maker Space teacher will provide daily project based learning targeted to applicable Common Core Standards, critical thinking skills and mathematical
practices. Teacher should have 2-3 years teaching experience with diverse populations and evidence of creativity, technological aptitude and student achievement. Interested applicants should include a cover letter, transcripts, 3 letters of reference, copies
of appropriate teaching certification and 3 references (must be supervisors).
