Hello Torrie,

 

If you want tools for creation, try Simple Audio recorder (if you have mics) for “one-and-done” recordings, Twisted Wave if you want to edit the recordings

WeVideo for video creation/editing (there is a free version, but you can only “publish” 5 minutes per month, pay version has more features, publishing length, no logo)

If you make screencasts (or want students to), Snagit works pretty well (but I have heard that TechSmith is focusing more on their $$$ products so they may not be supporting it in the future)
