Ellington has fully embraced social media. Our new district website was launched last week and features a social media feed on the bottom half of the
main page http://www.ellingtonpublicschools.org/ . You can view the most recent
Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Blog posts from teachers and administrators across the district.
If teachers want to opt in to have their accounts linked to this main page, there’s a form from our IT department.
I chose to opt in with my library Instagram account @mrspolackslibrary but not with my Twitter account which I sometimes use for activity outside of school.
Here’s a list of some of the accounts used at our school
@emswildcats - Ellington Middle School
@emsjaguars - 7th Grade Jaguar Team
@ems_panthers - 7th Grade Panther Team
@lions_ems - 8th Grade Lions Team
@tigersems - 8th Grade Tigers Team
@emsworldlanguage - EMS World Language
@emsartroom - EMS Art
@emshealthandpe - EMS Health and Gym
@mrspolackslibrary - EMS Library
@emsstudent_council - EMS Student Council
@ellingtonathletics - Ellington Athletics

Subject: [CASL-L] Facebook & Twitter
Our district is looking to establish a social media presence. Can anyone share their experience setting up and managing a Facebook page and/or Twitter feed?
How do you handle viewer comments?
Thank you.
