Hi Linda - With regard to the "teaching" piece of school librarianship, the AASL "Standards for the 21st-Century Learner in Action" is my go-to reference. It includes very helpful benchmarks which indicates what skills students should have by the time they've reached particular grade levels.  The AASL and Common Core crosswalk has also been helpful:  http://www.ala.org/aasl/standards/crosswalk

The Connecticut SEED document for library media specialists that Mary Ellen Minichiello put together is also extremely helpful:  http://www.connecticutseed.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/12/Library_Media_Specialists_SESS_12-13-13.pdf

I am looking for the most up-to-date standards that a school library should use to assess/plan for their services. So many documents on the AASL site. What do you use?

Thanks!

Linda
