CLC joins #CTPlaces - Advocates for Humanities, Libraries, History and Preservation
#CTPlaces is a statewide coalition of history, humanities, preservation and library organizations that have joined together to advocate for our mutual beliefs and goals.
The
#CTPlaces Coalition believes the recent dramatic erosion of state investment in and support of Connecticut's special places is a direct threat to what makes our state an attractive place to live and
work. The #CTPlaces Coalition believes that continued public investment in these places, in conjunction with supportive public policies that spur private investment, will create and maintain communities in Connecticut where residents stay, businesses thrive,
and newcomers want to call home.
CLC, the Connecticut Library Association and the Connecticut State Library have joined #CTPlaces because we believe that by working with other organizations to raise
awareness of all of our advocacy goals, we can build a larger group of supporters across the state. This coalition will supplement, not replace, our own library advocacy efforts.
How can you help? Please join us at one of the upcoming
#CTPlaces advocacy workshops! Send your staff, and invite your board members, Friends and patrons.
These workshops will give you a chance to meet other staff and supporters from historical, preservation and humanities organizations, and learn
how we can work more effectively together and understand the challenges facing us all.
