Hello Joy,

I was told that this would have to be purchased by individual departments and that the library does not purchase this for the school (we had some teachers interested in purchasing this). I have heard that the price is quite steep and is not feasible for schools with limited budgets.

And how does your school fund this? I spoke to a Rep on Friday afternoon and he quoted me about $ 8.53 per student for whole high school, and it came out to over $ 8,000 for a year for my high school of 826 students. I feel this is way out of the ball park as not all teachers want to use it. I asked if I would be able to get a grade level license and the best he said he could do was $ 1300. for a 3 month period as an introductory price.

If you have it, how does your school pay for it? Does it come out of the Library Online Services/Database funding? Or another account?
