Good morning all- I am reaching out to find other schools who are using the Wallingford, CT Discovery DEVOS Video Server and Streamsie Encoder.
Our district has a contract with the company, and we are being told that we may legally upload our DVD collection to the server in order to stream (there is the capability, we are told, to limit viewing to one classroom at a time, which should "satisfy fair use requirements").

We are skeptical, and wondering if anyone out there has had this experience.  TIA! -Barb Lyons

p.s there are other services out there, such a PLEX media server:
"Plex allows you to aggregate all your personal media and access it anywhere you go. Enjoy your own media on all your devices with the Plex Media Server."  I contacted them and received this response:
"we have many schools using Plex!. The only thing that you need to be clear on is that we don't know what you will be storing/streaming -- so, it is up to you to make sure have the rights to do so (being a library, though, my guess is that you have a pretty good idea what rights you have!)."
