We are a 1:1 iPad school so our students always have their iPads with them but some teachers won't let the students use them unless they are necessary for the lesson and they can do a lot of the same things on the iPad. However, teachers don't have to let students have their phones. In fact, some teachers in my school make the kids place their phones in a basket on the teachers"s  desk when they walk in. One English teacher in my school has a plastic shoe holder hanging up in her room and she has the kids put their phones in the shoe slots. It's a good visual way to see how many phones are in there and needless to say phones have to be on silent.

Hello!  Would love to know how other schools and teachers handle cell phone addiction.  No sooner than a teacher looks away for half a second and kids are checking their phones, snapchatting and texting.  It is an epidemic and addiction.

THANK YOU!
