Celebrate The Carle's special exhibition It's Me, Eloise: The Voice of Kay Thompson and the Art of Hilary Knight with a day of programs all about Eloise, declared by The New York Times as "one of the most recognizable characters in children's literature."

Eloise-inspired art project in the Studio
1:00 pm Getting Bored is Not Allowed! A grand gallery tour with Guest Curator Jane Bayard Curley
2:00 pm From Dumpster to Diva: The Story behind The Plaza's Stolen Eloise Portrait, with art conservator Lansing Moore
This program is designed for adults 55 and older interested in expressing themselves through visual art. In this first eight-week workshop of a series of three, participants will have the opportunity to explore new materials and techniques, including monotype, drypoint, and relief printmaking, all amid the inspiring exhibitions and collections of The Carle. The program will include time spent looking closely at original artworks from The Carle's collection and a visit from artist Lyell Castonguay where he will share his woodcut technique and experiences as director of BIG INK. Teaching Artist: Lynn Peterfreund Enrollment limited to 20.
Create at The Carle! is presented in partnership with Aroha Philanthropies in order to support the development and expansion of Artful Aging programs.
